Moderation you can read
Every restriction comes with written reasons and 180 days to appeal, and a permanent ban is always issued by a person. The numbers come straight from the moderation log.

Signal, human, reasons, appeal
Automation spots patterns. People make the calls that matter.
A signal arrives
A report from a member, a notice about illegal content, or the anti-spam score crossing 10 points within 120 minutes.
A moderator looks
Automatic sanctions currently run in test mode: they only alert moderators, nothing is enforced without a human.
You get the reasons
What was restricted, which rule, whether automation was involved and how to appeal — in your notices and by email.
You can appeal
Within 180 days. A different moderator reviews it. Overturned sanctions do not count against you.
Sanctions grow step by step — and reset
The counter resets after 30 days without violations. A ban stops writing, never reading.
| Step | Sanction | Who decides |
|---|---|---|
| 1 | Warning and slowdown for 2 hours | Automatically |
| 2 | Write ban for 12 hours | Automatically |
| 3 | Write ban for 1 day | Automatically |
| 4 | Write ban for 7 days | Automatically, moderators notified |
| 5 | Permanent ban | Only a human moderator |
What we never do
- Sell outcomes. Premium members and advertisers get exactly the same treatment.
- Remove criticism of advertisers because they pay us.
- Restrict someone silently. If we act, you are told what, why and how to appeal.
- Let the same moderator judge their own decision on appeal.
- Sell editors' picks. Moderators cannot pick their own publications or sponsored ones — see the editorial standards.
You can also turn to a certified out-of-court dispute settlement body under article 21 of the Digital Services Act. To report illegal content without an account, use the notice form.
Moderation questions
Who are the moderators?
Global moderators work for the platform. Communities can also appoint their own moderators, who can hide content and issue sanctions of up to 7 days in their community only.
Do robots ban people?
Automation scores spam signals — duplicate texts, link floods, reports from experienced members. The slowdown and write bans of up to a week can be automatic and are marked as such; a permanent ban is always a human decision. While automatic sanctions run in test mode, they only alert moderators.
Do you shadow-ban users?
No. If we restrict something, the author is told what, why and how to appeal. Automation can only alert moderators or apply visible, explained sanctions.
Can advertisers or Premium members get special treatment?
No. Moderators apply the same rules to everyone. Advertisers can't remove critical comments under their ads.
I disagree with a decision. What can I do?
Appeal it from the statement of reasons within 180 days. A different moderator reviews it.
Where can I see moderation statistics?
On the moderation transparency page, updated from the moderation log.
