Emails and the newsletter
Which emails we send, how to change notification emails and how signing up for the newsletter works.
Emails about your account
Confirmation links, password resets, security alerts, moderation notices and payment receipts are sent whenever they happen. They are part of running your account, so you can't switch them off.
Notification emails
Replies, mentions, new followers and digests can be turned on or off per type in your notification settings. Every such email has a link to those settings. How the digest works, push notifications and quiet hours: Notifications, digests and push.
The newsletter
Once a month we send a short email with the best publications, new communities and platform news. You sign up in two steps, so nobody can subscribe you without your consent:
- Enter your email on the newsletter page and tick the consent box.
- We send a confirmation link valid for 3 days.
- Only after you click it do you get the newsletter. Unconfirmed sign-ups are deleted after 7 days.
Every newsletter has a one-click Unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing deletes your address from the list immediately. We do not track whether you open our emails.
