Creating an account
Sign up with an email, confirm it, pick a nickname — and what you can do before and after confirmation.
- Press Create account in the top right corner (on a narrow phone screen it says Sign up).
- Enter your email, a nickname and a password of at least 10 characters.
- Open the email from Muhamor and click the confirmation link.
Until you confirm the address, your account is a spore (level L0): you can read, bookmark and set up your profile, but not publish, comment or vote. Confirming it makes you a sprout (L1).
After confirming, you can set up your feed in about 30 seconds: pick the language you read best and at least 3 topics, and we join you to matching communities. Every step can be skipped. Later you change the reading language in the header or in your settings, and join or leave communities in the directory.
Temporary email and the robot check
- Temporary (disposable) email addresses don't work: replies, notifications and account recovery go to this address, so it has to stay yours.
- A “not a robot” check may appear when you sign up and on your first publication. It is Cloudflare Turnstile: usually it passes by itself or with one tick, without pictures to click.
- If many accounts are created from one network in a short time, sign-up from it pauses for a while. If that blocks you, write to hello@muhamor.com.
Choosing a nickname
Nicknames are public and shown on everything you write. They can contain letters, digits, dots, dashes and underscores, and must be 3 to 30 characters long. Some names that could be mistaken for staff (like “admin” or “moderator”) are reserved.
Pseudonyms are welcome. Pretending to be a specific other person is not.
Didn't get the email?
- Check the spam and “Promotions” folders.
- Wait a couple of minutes: we limit how often confirmation emails are sent.
- You can request a new link on the email settings page after signing in.
Still nothing? Write to hello@muhamor.com from the same address.
